Gabbie McGee

Gabbie In the Background of Hidden Figures

Gabbie McGee shares her experience as a background actor on the set of 20th Century Fox's highly anticipated film "Hidden Figures":

I was 12 weeks postpartum when I got the job. Trying to get back to work but still not feeling like myself. I was doing a church scene where I was seated directly behind leading ladies Janelle Monae, Taraji P. Henson and Octavia Spencer. There was an energy of pride and sisterhood that filled the atmosphere. Although I was in the background, I felt valued and I thanked God throughout the very long days of filming for opening the door for me to contribute to such an important film.
Hidden Figures is a true story based on the lives of Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughan, women who were brave enough to be brilliant, bold enough to live their dreams and unashamed of the beauty of their blackness!

Again, God placed me right where I needed to be to get the motivation I needed to keep being the woman I am becoming!

Gabbie Gives Back

Gabbie talks about giving to charities that support cancer patients:

Because of the many years my family spent supporting my sister in her fight with cancer, I am always honored and eager to use my voice to support charities that help families who have a child or children living with cancer.

Every year, I look forward to performing at the Ambassadors Breakfast sponsored by the Hard Rock Cafe benefiting children currently receiving care at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
